Well, I made it to Georgia. It's true. I am no longer a Californian, but I am going to be a Georgia peach. Yep. Heh.
It was an interesting trip. Although there weren't a lot of major problems (with the exception of my tire blowing in the 120 degree Arizona desert heat) while driving out, there were some things that happened that made it a very . . . memorable trip!
My sisters met us there with a washer and dryer, and I replaced it with my refrigerator, which Mom and Dad will use in their house. They've needed a new one for years! Mine is a barely used and fairly new (two years) fridge. It all works out. ;-)
I've just traveled from the desert. In my part of Georgia, it was raining . . . heavily . . . flood warnings and everything! There was sunshine on Thursday, the day I was leaving for Wisconsin. Just not fair. *lol*
Dad left my apartment on Wednesday, and my mom, two sisters, Lucky and I left on Thursday. I'm now in Wisconsin. I'll be here for a few days, probably leaving on Wednesday. I still feel very unsettled back at my apartment. It doesn't help that I was unable to get there during the month of June so that I could get my school stuff stored in my new classroom. Now the building is closed off to all but the heavy-duty cleaners! Darn it. All 48 of my school boxes are neatly piled in my second bedroom/office. I'll be the lucky one to lug each box into the classroom . . . by myself. Oh well. Hopefully I'll be able to get in touch with the principal or another third grade teacher with whom I'll be working so that I can get the curriculum to begin my lesson planning.
This summer is going by all too quickly, and the new school year is approaching even more quickly!
Well, I'm off to spend some time with my nephews and niece at the pool. It's the 4th of July, so I wish you all a wondeful and explosively happy Independence Day!!!
(I'll be writing up a real entry either while here or when I get home.)
