I moved. I no longer live beneath the loudest, most obnoxious family in the entire universe! I don’t even remember if I’ve mentioned the neighbors living in the apartment above me, and I’m too lazy to go back and look. Heh. It’s a family—two young boys, their mom, and their grandparents. Neither the mother nor the grandparents apparently care what those boys are doing because they are noisy! They are running around, jumping around, and they must be wrestling or throwing each other around, too. It’s frustrating because it’s all I hear every day. So when my lease started coming to an end and it was time to renew, I asked for a different apartment.
Fortunately I had my friend here with me! She was such an incredible help to me. I went from a ground-floor apartment to a third-floor apartment, which is the top floor. Although it nearly killed us to move—going up three flights of stairs two hundred and fifty million times! —I a so glad that I did. The apartment is almost the same except that because it’s top floor, it has a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace in the living room. I love it. I had a patio before; now I have a balcony that’s fairly private because of the trees around it. Love it! It’s brighter because the sun shines in. Before I was at the base of a bunch of trees, so it was shaded. I love my new apartment!
I only got to spend one night in it before driving back to Wisconsin, but I slept well! I don’t know if it was because it was quiet or if it was because after two days of going up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down the stairs, I was absolutely exhausted. I’m thinking it was because I was exhausted. Heh. But I’ll let y’all (see how southern I am now?) know how it is when I get back.
We left at 8 A.M.. Yuck! I, of course, didn’t pack until the morning. I also had a really hard time waking up after two days of moving. (Side note: I hurt so much by the end of the day that when I realized I’d have to go up and down the stairs one more time, I actually cried. Yeah. It was bad.) I really didn’t want to wake up!!! But I had to. Needless to say, after only having about 15 minutes to pack, there was a lot of stuff that I forgot. Oops.
It was thirteen hours of driving. I am such a bad passenger. Driving puts me right to sleep. I wonder if my parents utilized that little fact when I was little and crying. Of course, I was a perfect child, so I’m sure that I stopped crying once I was shushed. Heh. Both my friend and I were in so much pain. Every time that we had to get out of the car, it was a big production! We must have provided some wonderful entertainment for those who were watching. . . especially me. I was the most pathetic. Heh.
Well, I’m off for two weeks to spend some time with me beloved family. I love summer vacations!
